Mr. Pham Quoc Viet, 36 years old, FAS Angel First Aid Support Team Leader, was awarded the Medal of Bravery by the President for saving people in the fire at the Khuong Ha mini apartment building.

The decision to award the Medal of Courage to Mr. Viet was signed by the President on December 26.

In September, Mr. Viet and FAS Angel team members participated in rescuing 12 people in a mini apartment fire on Khuong Ha street, Khuong Dinh ward, Thanh Xuan district, Hanoi.

Having served in the military, Mr. Viet was trained in first aid and emergency care skills. He also accumulated a lot of medical knowledge because his grandparents, parents and younger brother are all doctors and was sent by the company to attend a first aid training course organized by Survival Skills Vietnam (SSVN).

With the knowledge he gained, in September 2019, Mr. Viet established a free First Aid – Rescue team of 5 members. To date, the team has dozens of members and volunteers. In 2023 alone, the team supported and provided first aid to nearly 3,000 victims, opened a rescue station providing vehicle repair and accident rescue services…

In 2022, Mr. Viet was awarded the B Community Initiative Prize. In early December 2023, he received the 2023 National Volunteer Award from the Central Youth Union. The volunteer team leader wants to build a professional rescue team, expand the network to many provinces and cities, help victims, and reduce casualties.
