The year 2024 is not just a number, it marks a significant milestone in the meaningful journey of Survival Skills Vietnam (SSVN). With over a decade of relentless effort, SSVN was honored to receive the “Resilient Project” award at the Human Act Prize 2024.
The Human Act Prize 2024, organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper in collaboration with VCCorp Joint Stock Company, not only honors individual contributions but also reinforces the power of community initiatives in improving quality of life.

The “Resilient Project” award at the Human Act Prize 2024 is not only one of SSVN’s achievements but also a testament to its dedication to the community. Being honored among outstanding candidates in the field of community action is a recognition of the value of SSVN’s efforts over the past 10 years.

SSVN: A journey of over 10 years of dedication
Since its establishment, SSVN has been committed to its mission of equipping communities with first aid skills for emergency situations. SSVN’s goal is to build a community capable of responding effectively to hazards, from natural disasters and fires to traffic accidents. Over more than a decade of operation, SSVN has conducted numerous training courses, workshops, elearning and media campaigns, helping to raise awareness about safety and first aid methods for millions of people in Vietnam and across Southeast Asia, including Laos and Thailand,…
SSVN’s training programs not only focus on delivering knowledge but also emphasize building a strong foundation for confidence and proactive action within the community. SSVN’s activities have created an environment where people can interact, share experiences, and support one another, thereby strengthening community awareness in protecting lives and health—both their own and others’.
Joining hands for action: “Reducing preventable casualties through first aid education”
“Reducing preventable casualties through first aid education” is designed with a clear goal: to minimize injuries and social losses caused by emergency situations, from natural disasters to traffic accidents.
Training courses and workshops are not only designed for adults but also extended to children, helping them understand the importance of safety skills in everyday life.
Investing in sustainable community education
Community education has always been a key part of SSVN’s operational strategy, aiming to deepen individuals’ awareness of their responsibility to protect themselves and support those around them.
The combination of education, awareness-raising, and encouragement of self-reliance has created a lasting impact—not only on those who have participated but also across society as a whole.
Many SSVN trainees have shared their knowledge and experience with friends, family, and other community members. Moreover, they have applied their skills to save lives in tragic accidents. Notably, Phạm Quốc Việt and Nghĩa Phạm, two outstanding SSVN learners, have repeatedly rescued people in critical situations. Their actions have helped build a strong network of information and support within the community.
