In its continuous efforts to improve the quality of life for the visually impaired community, Survival Skills Vietnam (SSVN) has successfully completed a first aid training course for The Christian Foundation for the Blind in Thailand (CFBT).
The program was held at two branches of CFBT in Khon Kaen and Nakhon Ratchasima provinces, Thailand, with the participation of leading experts in first aid training.

Why is first aid important?
First aid skills are not just a subject to learn but also a crucial factor in ensuring personal and community safety.

Especially for visually impaired individuals, mastering these skills not only helps them handle emergency situations more effectively but also brings confidence and independence in daily life.

CFBT – A Meaningful organization
CFBT, a non-profit charitable organization under the royal patronage of Thailand, continues its noble mission: to support blind individuals in Thailand regardless of gender, race, or religion.
With 11 operational centers both domestically and internationally, CFBT continually strives to create comprehensive development opportunities for the visually impaired community. The presence of this organization not only provides support services but also encourages them to integrate into society with confidence.

The meaningful training journey of SSVN
The training program organized by SSVN covers a wide range of topics, from theory to hands-on practice, aiming to equip participants with essential skills for handling emergency situations. These skills include:
- Recognizing and assessing emergency situations.
- Performing basic first aid measures for common injuries.
- Handling psychological issues that may arise during an emergency.
The first aid training program organized by SSVN is specially designed to suit the needs and capabilities of visually impaired individuals. Fundamental first aid knowledge, emergency response techniques, and effective communication methods were introduced and practiced through interactive activities. This not only helps participants absorb information more easily but also creates a friendly environment that fosters confidence and active engagement.

Another wonderful aspect of this training program is the joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere created by the learners. Laughter fills the air, and cheerful stories are shared among participants, making the environment more friendly and welcoming than ever.

First aid training – the key to saving lives!
Through this training course, SSVN hopes that CFBT members will not only become individuals with solid first aid skills but also “inspirational figures” for the blind community throughout Thailand. They will be able to confidently handle emergency situations and contribute to building a safer society.
One of the highlights of the program is the combination of theory and practice. Learners practice on mannequin simulations, helping them master the necessary skills in emergency situations. In this way, SSVN not only provides knowledge but also equips the blind with the ability to respond flexibly to unexpected situations, thereby reducing risks and ensuring safety for themselves and those around them.

This training journey not only creates a group of visually impaired individuals with essential first aid skills but also helps change society’s perception of the abilities of people with disabilities. Through this, SSVN promotes inclusion and creates opportunities for visually impaired individuals to engage in community activities, boosting self-esteem and encouraging a spirit of collaboration.
Collaboration and coordination to build a bright future
SSVN believes that through the training collaboration with CFBT, SSVN not only contributes to enhancing the knowledge and skills of the blind but also fosters a spirit of solidarity and mutual support within the community.
Let’s join SSVN in spreading this humanitarian value, creating new opportunities for the blind community, and building a society where everyone can shine!
