Innovate first aid education

The first Learning Management System (LMS) for first aid in Vietnam

Created during the COVID-19 pandemic to relieve some of the burden on the healthcare system by helping Vietnamese people to take self-care of common injuries at home, the project has received support from the community across Vietnam.

The e-learning platform was thought to be forgotten in the new normal. However, SSVN was welcomed and experienced support from the community, as there were advantages to e-learning over traditional methods.

Lectures are complied according to international standrads by paramedic expert Tony Coffey with more than 30 years of first aid rescue experience.

First aid knowledge is periodically updated according to international standards by SSVN in cooperation with long-standing rescue partners in Australia, Surf Life Saving Australia and Survivor Training

After taking the first aid course at SSVN, I gained practical skills such as proper first aid techniques, the DRS.ABCD approach, CPR, and various first aid methods suitable for different situations. Previously, my children's school invited Survival Skills Vietnam-SSVN to come to the school to teach children and parents some basic knowledge in first aid. Now, I registered to learn CPR (theory and practice) and was placed in a first aid practice class. Practice many good and necessary skills. Vietnamese people tend to help others, but helping people incorrectly often causes more harm to the injured person and themselves. Learn it, it's great. The best part is the practical learning part. There are additional doctors at 115 for guidance.

First Aid Education has contributed to a 50% reduction in workplace injuries in Australia since 2007 and we strive to reduce this to 0%. SSVN's training program is being implemented according to Australian standards.

Having attended a fire prevention class organized by the CA, I learned many useful things about survival skills, so I quite like this training course. Unfortunately, in Vietnam, classes are a bit rare. Recently, I have witnessed many more heart breaking cases just because family members did not have basic first aid skills, leading to no rescue, so I saw information about the class. This Survival Skill was a must to jump into as soon as the information was released a few months ago. When I go to school, I see that there are things I learned from my predecessors that are completely wrong and need to be updated. Many thanks to expert Tony Coffey for taking his annual leave to come to Vietnam to disseminate this knowledge. The next course is expected to open in early 2018.

Last Sunday, Tue Quang collaborated with Survival Skills Vietnam to organize a training session on first aid methods for children. In order to avoid unfortunate cases due to mishandling, wasting time waiting for an ambulance or transporting to the hospital, SSVN released the mobile app "First Aid" to help people equip themselves with practical knowledge.
