The ASEAN Social Enterprise Development Program 2.0 is held in Singapore from October 18-20, 2023, organized by the ASEAN Foundation with the theme “Empowering Social Enterprises to Drive Meaningful Change in ASEAN”.

Overview of the competition held in Singapore

20 social enterprises from 10 ASEAN Member States participated in the workshop, which is an important event to promote innovation, improve access to finance and market presence as well as access to policy making in the region.

At the Workshop, representatives of small and medium-sized enterprise management agencies of member countries went through 02 rounds of round table discussions to share policies regulating and promoting social enterprises. Through the discussions, Vietnam is currently the country with the clearest policies regulating and promoting social enterprises compared to member countries.

First, Second and Third prizes were awarded to representatives of Vietnam, Indonesia and Malaysia in the competition.

At the second round of roundtable discussion, social enterprises representing countries presented their models and products, including 2 enterprises representing Vietnam: To he social enterprise is a social enterprise established in 2006 with the mission of providing disadvantaged children with a playground for learning, practicing creativity, and experiencing art and Social enterprise Survival Skills (SSVN) was established in 2014 with the mission of reducing preventable casualties in Vietnam through international standard first aid education.

Survival Skills Vietnam started as a non-profit project and has transformed into SSVN Survival Skills Social Enterprise with regular activities and constant modernization to help thousands of Vietnamese people access knowledge and correct first aid skills, thereby helping many victims avoid unnecessary casualties.

At the award ceremony witnessed by the ASEAN SME Coordinating Committee ACCMSME, SSVN surpassed 19 candidates from ASEAN member countries to win the first prize of the competition and received a grant of 30,000 USD. SSVN was evaluated as a pioneering enterprise and its idea created a great impact on the majority with the product Smart Application for international standard First Aid Training including the system. E-learning.
