Women ‘s Empowerment Club (WEC)

is a professional skills training program and empowers women to implement community projects, sponsored by the US Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City since 2017. WEC has become a leading program, promoting an uplifting and impactful approach through training sessions for more than 200 women aged 25-40. Survival Skills Vietnam has always accompanied WEC as a community partner, working with WEC members to implement community projects and spread positive values to society.

From November 12, 2020 to January 15, 2021, during the 9th season of the WEC club, SSVN and We Will Survive team implemented the project. THE HERO YOU MAKE, with the goal of raising fund about 20 scholarships for teachers and carers of children with special needs.

Purpose

Named The Hero You Make, the We Will Survive group believes that, with the first aid training program from SSVN, each of us can become a hero in everyday life: “We believe that the life of Vietnamese people will improve significantly when they can respond quickly and accurately to everyday emergency situations.”

Target

The group selected beneficiaries for the scholarship fund as caregivers of children with special needs, with the goal of increasing first aid knowledge and skills, helping them to respond properly and promptly in emergencies. common situations with a high risk of causing casualties such as drowning, falls, burns, traffic accidents, and suffocation.

Implementation

The Hero You Make project organizes fundraising through 2 main channels: online (on the GoGetFunding website) and direct donations. In addition, the project also brought SSVN’s images and course information to many non-profit organizations, including CanCham Vietnam’s official website.

Kết quả

The project raised a total of 29,288,000 VND, of which 7,416,000 VND came from online channels, and 21,872,000 VND were donated directly, equivalent to 16 first aid course scholarships.
